Japanese toys & related items
Another of my favorite categories and one that I have collected from for years. This category includes (but is not limited to) Japanese die-cast robots/vehicles, Japanese vinyls, Japanese "Super-Robots", and Godzilla/Gamera/Monster related toys. Lots to see here...better get started! Click on the images for enlarged /alternate views.

click to enlarge item: Mini Godaikin Collection, Daitetsujin 17; Bandai, ca. 1984
description: No Godaikin collection can be complete without the 3" Mini's! Made in Taiwan for Bandai, they're essentially the 3" Shogun collector series with more decals. Not as high quality as their Japanese-made counterparts, but visually interesting regardless! Nice MOC piece with some card wear and cracking to the blister.

size: toy 3.25" h, card 8" h, 5.5" wide
condition: MOC, C -8 card with cracks to blister
price: sold

click to enlarge   item: Shogun Warriors 3", Combatra; Mattel/Bandai, 1978
description: Here's a great 3" collector's series Shogun Combatra (Combattler). The first version narrow box is worn and creased but pretty much intact and actually quite displayable. Combattra is harder to find (especially loose) due to the relative fragility of his antennae...don't miss this fine example.

size: toy 3.5" h, card 8" h, 5.5" wide
condition: MIB, C -7 box
price: sold

click to enlarge item: Acrobot, Tomy, 1978
description: The Tomy Corporation made many entertaining and inexpensive so-called "white-knob wind-ups" during the 1970's and 1980's and the Acrobot is probably the most entertaining of them all. Wind him up and watch him scoot along, flip over, and keep right on going. This is a very nice MOC example with some aging to the decals. Oh...and the wind-up knob is blue, not white!

size: toy 2.25" h, card 6" h, 4.25" wide
condition: MOC, C -8 card with creases and price sticker scar
price: $20.00
description: Initially part of Popy's (later Bandai's) successful Machine Robo line, the Go-Bots were a collaboration between Tonka and Bandai and were obviously intended to capitalize on Hasbro's/Takara's lucrative Transformers market. Although superior in design and construction, they never achieved the same success, probably because of the lack of accessories and, therefore, play value. This enemy robot Cy-Kill is cool!

size: toy 6" h, box 7" h, 4.5" w, 2.75" d
condition: MIB, C -8 box with light wear and minor bumps
price: $45.00
click to enlarge item: Machine Robo, MR-29, Bandai, 1983
description: Popy (later Bandai) produced this successful line in the early 1980's at the very beginning of the "transforming robot" craze. The Machine Robo series is inventive in concept and extremely well made, with a combination of plastic and metal construction that rivals even the larger Godaikin series. Add this one to your collection today.

size: toy 3.25" h, box 4" h, 2.75" w, 1.5" d
condition: MIB, C -9 box, stickers not applied
price: $30.00
