Japanese toys & related items
Another of my favorite categories and one that I have collected from for years. This category includes (but is not limited to) Japanese die-cast robots/vehicles, Japanese vinyls, Japanese "Super-Robots", and Godzilla/Gamera/Monster related toys. Lots to see here...better get started! Click on the images for enlarged /alternate views.

click to enlarge   item: Go!! Go!! Raideen TV Hero Series 4; Froebel-kan, Co., Ltd.,1980's
description: A graphically intense kid's book printed on heavy board stock. Only 8 interior pages, but a wonderful display item. Printed exclusively for the Hawaiian market...cool, huh?

size: 10.5" h, 7.25" wide
condition: NM, no wrappings
price: $20.00
click to enlarge   item: Diakron Multi-Force 14 Robot; Takara, 1983.
description: Takara's Diaclone series of toys made it to the USA as Diakron. The sets were inexpensive when compared to the Godaikin line from Bandai, with which they were meant to compete. Quality tells, though and they did not have the impact of the better quality Bandai toys. Still, a nice collectible and getting hard to find complete. Decals are applied to this example.

size: overall 8.75" h, 12.75" wide, 2" d
condition: C-9 contents, C-7 box with one interior flap missing
price:sold
click to enlarge   item: Mazinga "Z"; Mattel, Italy, 1970's.
description: An awesome rigid plastic "mini-jumbo" with most of the typical Shogun Warrior features such as rocket-firing fist & wheels on feet (not shown...they are detachable like roller skates). Actually made in Italy and not as high quality as the Japanese-made versions, but still very cool from a collectible standpoint. Has slight box wear to chest decal, box is fairly displayable but has several flap tears and significant wear.

size: 13" h, 6" w
condition: NMIB, C-6+ box
price: sold
click to enlarge   item: Mini Godzilla "bop-bag"; Midori, 1980's.
description: A cool "Gojira" for your desk top or workstation! This inflatable "G" has a weighted base that keeps him coming back up for more. A fun Godzilla collectible.

size: 3.5" h, 2.5" d
condition: C-9, loose
price: $20.00
click to enlarge   item: Machine Blaster IV wind-up; Takemi, 1970's.
description: Here's a very cool walking toy! A wind-up Machine Blaster IV rendered in plastic with a gold-toned metal chain between his twin mace weapons. Clockwork mechanism is in perfect working order, although his walk is unstable unless on hard, flat surfaces. This piece was in an unopened bag inside the box...I had to open him to make sure all was in order. The bag with header card is included (see enlarged image).

size: toy 6.75" h, 3.5" w, 3.5" d; box 6.75" h, 3.75" w, 2.25" d
condition: NM toy, C-7 box and bag
price: sold

click to enlarge item: Wind-up "Kaiju"; Japan, 1970's.
description: What a beauty! This key-wind "Kaiju" (or monster) toy is in wonderful, played-with condition. A hard vinyl body with metal foot plate, key, switch and inner workings. Marked "Made in Japan" on the metal and "Japan" on the vinyl. Manufacturer is unknown, but very reminiscent of Bullmark vinyls of that era...right down to the vinyl and paint colors. The red metal tongue "wags" and he is obviously supposed to shoot sparks, but the flint is kaput! Is this an Ultraman Kaiju or an amalgam monster with elements of Gojira, Gappa, and Gomess?

size: toy 4.5" h, 2.25" w, 3.5" d
condition: C-8 overall, wear to base, patina to key & switch
price: $75.00
click to enlarge   item: Godaikin "Laserion"; Bandai, 1984.
description: A fine example of the ST sized Lazerion, one of the later Godaikin line toys. He is in absolutely beautiful condition and was only displayed, never played! All parts are present with missiles still on the sprues, instructions included (not pictured).

size: toy 5" h, 2.5" w, 1.5" d; box 7" h, 5" w, 2" d
condition: NMIB, box & inserts C-8
price: $95.00

click to enlarge item: Shogun Action Vehicles Solar Saucer; Mattel, 1978.
description: A beautiful example of the Solar Saucer, which transports Grendizer to his battles. It is in near mint condition and was only displayed, never played! All parts are present with missiles still in the original, unsealed bag. Box is faded and has tears and remains of a sticker. Styro insert is in better condition

size: toy 2" h, 7" w, 4" d; box 5" h, 4" w, 4" d
condition: NMIB, box C-6, insert C-8
price: sold
click to enlarge item: Nessar; Popy, ca. 1975/1976.
description: A MIB example of the Daiku Maryu/ Gaiking companion toy as originally produced by Popy. All parts are present with missiles still in the sealed bag, catalog and original foam liner (not pictured) are included. My absolute favorite "Shogun Warriors" group after Getter Robo!

condition: MIB, box C-8
price: sold
click to enlarge   item: Goldrake; Atlantic, Italy, 1978.
description: Okay, so it's NOT Japanese. This now scarce Atlantic kit of Grendizer (called Goldorak or Goldrake in Italy) is cool. The parts are molded in color...just snap together... plus the fists actually fire. All parts are still on sprues except for 1 small piece. The kit is complete with springs for firing fists.

size: toy 6.75" h assembled (approximate); box 10" h, 8" w, 2" d
condition: MIB, box C - 6 +
price: $45.00
