What in the world...
OK, I guess some of the items on my web-site may have you a little confused. Maybe you are wondering what pin-ups have to do with robots?Perhaps I can shed some light ...

Anyone reading this has probably spent enough time on the site to figure out that I am a late "Baby Boomer". I (mis)spent many hours of tender youth in pursuit of Outer Limits and Mars Attacks cards, Famous Monsters of Filmland anything, Aurora monster models (oh yeah, I had them all), and any sort of "fantastic" toys. I was, needless to say, in possession of countless comics and magazines related to science fiction, monsters, and the like and was endlessly fascinated by what seemed to me a limitless universe of objects to acquire.

As with most boys my age, I also spent a fair amount of time trying to catch frenzied peeks at the rather benign mens magazines and pin-up materials of the day. I cannot see a circa 1960's Playboy magazine today without thinking back to those stolen moments...and wishing that I was that innocent again.

All these years later, I am still fascinated by all these things ...but I also see them with what passes for a sense of objectivity. Certainly they are attainable physical reminders of priceless childhood memories as well as nostalgic looks back at simpler times! But aren't they also part of what made us what we are...for good or for ill? And you thought this was going to be simple? Well, so much for the sociological implications of the effects of popular culture on post-modern America.

Go Boom was conceived as a very personal collection of things that I coveted (and sometimes owned) as a child. As a result, the items offered on this site are highly idiosyncratic and reflect my personal tastes as much as market demand. I never lost my passion for these "objects of desire" when I left my childhood behind...and I have been collecting them ever since. My sincere hope is that Go Boom will fulfill a few desires...and perhaps fuel a few more!
